VA education benefits
The Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) education benefits help all veterans, service members, and their qualified family members in paying for their college tuition, finding the right school or training programs, or accessing career counseling. The Harry W. Colmery Veterans Educational Assistance Act, also known as the Forever GI Bill, made using these benefits simpler. Resources for veterans who want to use their earned education and training benefits include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB) assists military members and veterans with their education and training needs.
- Post-9/11 GI Bill helps veterans pay for school or job training. Veterans may be eligible for this option if they served on active duty after September 10, 2001.
- Veteran readiness and employment helps veterans with service-connected disabilities explore employment options and address their training needs.
- Education and career counseling guides veterans, at no cost, who are pursuing education after their discharge.
- VA education benefits are available for veterans' dependents and survivors.
