WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) released the following statement after Secretary of the Department of Energy Rick Perry approved two long-term applications to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Lake Charles LNG Liquefaction Project:

“I am pleased to announce the approval of two applications to export additional liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Lake Charles LNG Liquefaction Project in Louisiana,” said Sen. Kennedy.  “LNG has generated economic growth throughout Louisiana, and the approval of these two long-term applications will help grow our economy, create thousands of jobs and move our nation towards energy independence.”
